Nura

Safety Standards

How Nura protects the people in your circle.

Nura is built for parents who already know each other. Safety here is about making the structure around your existing relationships clear, private, and easy to step back from at any time.

Here is exactly what we do and what we are building next.

Principle 01

Circles are invite-only. Always.

Active at launch

No stranger can find or join your circle. Nura does not have a discovery feature, a public directory, or any mechanism for someone to search for families. The only way into a circle is through a direct personal invitation from someone already in it.

This is an architectural decision, not just a policy. It means the platform cannot be used to gain access to a child by someone who was not personally invited by a parent.

  • Invite links are unique and single-use per recipient
  • Circle membership is visible only to circle members
  • No public profiles exist on Nura

Principle 02

Every account is verified at signup.

Active at launch

Every Nura account requires email verification before accessing any circle. This ensures that each person in a circle is a real, accountable individual, not an anonymous profile.

  • Email verification required at signup
  • Accounts without verified emails cannot join or create circles
  • Account activity is logged and reviewable by Nura's safety team

Principle 03

Optional identity verification for added confidence.

Coming soon

Circle members will be able to verify their identity through a government-issued ID check. This is optional, not required, but visible to other circle members as a signal of confidence.

Verification is powered by Stripe Identity. Nura does not store ID documents.

  • Verified members display a visible confirmation to their circle
  • ID documents are never stored by Nura
  • Verification is always optional

Principle 04

You control who is in your circle at all times.

Active at launch

The parent who creates a circle has full authority to remove any member at any time. Removal is immediate.

  • Circle creators can remove members instantly
  • Removed members cannot see circle history or contact information
  • Any member can leave a circle at any time

Principle 05

Your children's information is never shared or sold.

Active at launch

Nura does not sell, share, or use children's personal information for advertising or third-party purposes.

Principle 06

Background checks are your decision. We tell you that clearly.

Enhanced feature coming

Nura does not perform background checks on members. We are direct about this so families can make informed decisions.

Before adding someone you do not know well, we encourage independent background checks.

We are evaluating optional background check integration directly in Nura. It will always be optional.

How circles stay healthy

These are the practices that make support feel good on both sides.

Nura works best when everyone is clear about what they can offer and communicates early when things change.

Be upfront about your availability, even when it changes

Give as much notice as you can when you cannot help

Keep what is shared in your circle inside your circle

If something feels off, say so, to us or to each other

If something does not feel right.

Even within existing relationships, things can get complicated. If a circle dynamic feels uncomfortable, you can flag it privately and our team will follow up personally.

Every report is reviewed by a real person, not an automated system.

Report or block anyone in-app at any time

Pause or leave your circle at any time

Every concern is followed up by a real person

What we collect and why.

Only what is needed to run your circle. Nothing more.

Nura only collects what is needed to run your circle. Your preferences, availability, and circle activity stay private to your group.

  • Your data is encrypted and never sold
  • Your circle activity is visible only to your circle members
  • ID verification, if chosen, is handled by secure providers and not stored by Nura directly
  • Read our full Privacy Policy

A note

For parents in survival mode.

We know childcare emergencies create pressure to say yes to anyone. When you are desperate, the bar drops, and that is completely human.

Nura is designed to slow that moment down. Not to add friction, but to make sure the people in your circle are people you have decided to include before the emergency happens, not during it.

This is why we recommend that circle members meet in person before a circle goes live. Fifteen minutes at school pickup or a quick coffee is enough. It makes everything that follows feel like a decision you made, not a decision desperation made for you.

We are building this carefully and we are not done.

If you have a safety concern or a question that is not answered here, we want to hear from you.
